A double musical anniversary – the 120th of Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov (1899 – 1978) and the 75th of pianist Karssimir Gatev ) 1944 – 2008). Both worked closely together over many years, Vladigerov trusting in Gatev’s interpretations of his music. The selections on this disc cover a long career. They are more descriptive than worked through sonatas, hinting at Rachmaninof and Medtner.
