Yulia Wiener-Chenisheva (1929-2010) aged 25 stepped into the role of Leonora in Il Trovatore and immediately became the great soprano star of Bulgarian opera.  She encompassed Senta, in The Flying Dutchman to Alice Ford in Falstaff.  “I did not stop even when I was at the top of my career and achievements,” she recalled.  “I have always fought for my place in the Opera.  The singer cannot afford to have a break.”  These recordings are confirmation, and Volume 2 in an ongoing series celebrating Bulgarian singers.
