Evgeny Irshai (b. 1951)  composed a cello concerto for Jozef Luptak in 2007.  From this came an idea to compose a set of six concerti in the manner of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos.  Each concerto is tailored to its soloist, set against a background of a string orchestra.  This recording is available in a 5.1 Surround Version as a download by contacting Pavlik Records on the address in the programme notes.
