Roman Berger (1930 – 2020), described as a composer of “restless and daring spirit.” He composed these two Adagios between 1987 and 1990. The dedication to Jan Branny relates to his imprisonment for eight years by the Communist authorities for not turning in his mother for a crime she never committed.
