Polish, by birth, Slovkian by career, Roman Berger (1930 – 2020) is one of the leading composers of his time.  Writing in Contemporary forms, the two major works on this disc are late pieces.  Korczak in Memoriam recalls his youth and the teacher who defied the nazis and died with his children in the Holocaust.  Requiem da Camera is a lament for the crimes of the 20th century.
