French violinist Marie Cantagrill’s only concerto recording to date, couples Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the little known Fantasy on Russian Themes by Rimsky-Korsakov, which is a substantial piece lasting 17 minutes on this recording.  The Budapest Concert Orchestra conducted by Tamas Gal sound great!  A pupil of Igor Oistrakh and winner of prizes, Marie Cantagrill is director of l’Orchestre de Chambre d’Ariege.
