Jakub Jan Ryba (1765 – 1815) is remembered mainly for his Czech Christmas Mass with its famous tune “Hey Master.” While he spent most of life in provincial Bohemia, he composed for his local musicians approaching 1500 pieces. Discover three of them on this Nibiru release – an early Missa solemnis dating from 1788, five arias on religious themes and a simple setting of Salve Regina. High production values ensure detailed programme notes and the sung texts in English.
