Two very familiar concertos, sounding very different. For this recording each concerto uses a reduced orchestra: 14 players in the Beethoven and 15 in the Schumann. Milan Pala has composed new cadenzas for the first and third movements of the Beethoven. The second is composed by Jean Guillou.
