The Smetana Trio are winners of several BBC Music Magazine Awards.  The piano part in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto was written for his pupil Archduke Rudolf, a future Archbishop of Olomouc, making a link with this recording.  Vorisek’s delightful single movement Grand Rondeau, dates from 1825.
