Extraordinary that these transcriptions of movements from Brahms Symphonies by Max Reger are World Premiere recordings, the solo piano creating the illusion of the full orchestral originals. Kirchner’s transcriptions of the Hungarian Dances somehow compress two pianos into one. While Brahms own turn on transcribing offers his rare takes on Schumann and Gluck.
