Bach, well into his forties when he composed these Keyboard Partitas, which are the product of a mature composer. For pianist Haskell Small because of these facts they are “more extensive and more interesting,” than Bach’s earlier works. These three Partitas comprise 20 movements in dance rhythms with either a Prelude or Overture.
