Jan Dismas Zelenka composed this extraordinary work in 1725 as part of a cycle of 33 compositions for Vespers. This is the World Premeire recording of the complete  Psalmi Vespertini I, that of Confitebor tibi Domine, ZWV 72 a World Premiere recording.  There are detailed programme notes giving the background to Zelenka’s Psalmi Vespertini.  The sung texts are given in the original Latin, Czech, English, German and French.
