For Benjamin Whitcomb the cello is an instrument “that most typically sounds one note at a time.” Muczynski, Reger and Bloch use compositional techniques that add a further dimension as to what is possible on a single cello. Benjamin Whitcomb plays an instrument made by Raymond Schryer in 2002, which is modeled after the designs of Francesco Ruggieri.
