The major work in this selection by Talea Trio is the Trio by Eduardo Destenay (1850 – 1924). Algerian born, but resident in Paris, his Trio composed 1906, harks back in musical years. Bill Douglas (b. 1944) picks up on Bebop, while the Trio by Christos Tsitsaros (b. 1961) uses post-tonal elements. Bach and Schubert receive a Talea Trio makeover.
