Marek Stryncl and his period instrument Music Florea find two elusive composers from the Bohemian Baroque – Jan Anselm Fridrich (? – 1769) and Frantisek Ignac Antonin Tuma (1704 – 17774). Fridrich’s Musica in Luctu… is a meditation on the suffering of Christ. Tuma’s Stabat Mater in G is more conventional in its structure. Both are quite beautiful and real musical discoveries.
